What an awesome week! I loved seeing everyone supporting Red Ribbon Week and uniting against bullying. Make sure you visit the school website to view pictures of the week!
Grandparents' Day was very successful. I loved seeing the faces of the students when their grandparent came. We appreciate you all for coming.
This week:
- The Leader of the Pack for my homeroom will be Jayla Fletcher.
- Monday is Field Day! Wear red for 4th grade spirit colors. Also, bring a jacket and water bottle.
- Tuesday- NO SCHOOL. Election Day
This Week in Math:
We will continue to work on word problems involving multi-digit addition and subtraction. We also will begin a new unit. A newsletter of the new unit will be sent home on Wednesday.
Math Homework Policy:
Many parents have asked about my policy on homework in terms of grades. Homework is extra practice for the student. I do not grade homework on the basis of understanding. I grade depending on completion. Please encourage your child to complete homework in its entirety. If your child turns in incomplete work I will grade it as such. They have the opportunity to resubmit the homework assignment for full credit. I will not continually ask if they will resubmit as that is their responsibility. I would prefer the student to attempt to answer all questions on the homework so that they can be prepared to participate in class discussions and voice their misunderstanding. This also gives me the opportunity to view where they are missing key information so that I can reteach if necessary.
