We have just finished with area and perimeter. We are beginning multiple digit multiplication. Please have your child practice those multiplication skills so that they can become more fluent with them. Here is a website that we use to give practice to students. Math Magician Site 1 or challenge them with this version of Math Magician 2.
Here is a list of activities you can do with your child to help build math fluency and to connect what we learn in math to real life:
- Make up numbers, roll numbers with dice, or find numbers (on labels) and compare them
- Find numbers and write them in expanded form
- Make numbers and tell which place value (and/or value) each digit represents
- Place large numbers in a number line
- Draw pictures and make models of numbers
- Practice addition and subtraction facts
This is a newsletter that will help show you math concepts that will be taught this module. Use this as a guide to help you learn the concepts your child is responsible for learning.
